Barry Keoghan was born in Summerhill, Dublin on 17th October 1992. Since making his break as ‘Wayne’ on RTE’s Love/Hate, Barry has gone onto work with some of the worlds best actors including Cillian Murphy, Michael Fassbender and Mark Rylance. In 2017, Barry was included in the Hollywood Reporter’s Top 20 Rising Stars under 35.
After receiving a Leading Actor IFTA nomination for his role in the acclaimed Mammal, Barry was cast in Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic Dunkirk, which went on to receive a host of Oscar nominations in early 2018. At the 2018 IFTA Film and Drama Awards, Barry picked up the Leading Actor - Film Award for his unnerving performance in The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
Keoghan also appeared in Calm with Horses (2019), for which he was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and the IFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Film. In 2021, he appeared as Druig in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals. Keoghan took on the iconic role of Joker in The Batman in 2022.
