Caitríona began her career on the catwalks of Paris in the early noughties, modelling for the world's best fashion brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, H&M and Victoria's Secret. Leaving the DIT Conservatory of Acting in 1999 to pursue her modelling career, it took Catriona ten years to return her interests to acting. In 2009, Catriona made the move to Los Angeles and has not looked back since, starring in films such as Super 8, Now You See Me and Escape Plan.
In 2014, Caitríona was cast as Claire Randall in the hit U.S television show Outlander, which has earned Catriona three Golden Globe nominations, as well as the Leading Actress - Drama Award at the 2018 Irish Film and Television Awards.
Caitríona co-starred in Money Monster in 2016. In 2019, she had a recurring voice role in the Netflic fantasy series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and had a starring role opposite Matt Damon and Christian Bale in Ford v Ferrari.
In 2021, Caitríona took on the role of Ma in Kenneth Branagh's Belfast for which she received critical acclaim, a BAFTA nomination and Golden Globe nomination.
