Frank Berry

Academy Member

Born in Dublin, Frank started out his career teaching filmmaking at Colaiste Dhulaigh where he previously studied. Whilst working part time in the college, Frank began his professional career in filmmaking. In 2014, he released his debut feature film I Used To Live Here which he received the 'Best Irish First Feature' Award at the Galway Film Fleadh as well as an IFTA nomination for 'Best Film'.

In the past year, Frank has established himself as one of Ireland’s most exciting writer/director prospects following the release of the widely successful Michael Inside. Described as "powerful, moving and brilliantly acted" by the Sunday Independent, the film went on to win the Best Film award at the Irish Film and Drama Awards. Frank also picked up his first IFTA nomination in the Best Director category.
