Jack Reynor was born 23rd January 1992 in the United States and raised in Co.Wicklow, Ireland. After performing on stage throughout his school years in Dublin and appearing in several short films, Jack's breakthrough came in 2012 with his first-lead role in the feature film What Richard Did. His role as Richard Karlsen won the Irish Film & Television Award for Best Film Lead Actor for the role in 2013, also garnering a nomination for the Rising Star category. Jack's performance won widespread acclaim with The New York Observer calling it "one of the most wrenching performances seen on the screen in some time".
Following his IFTA success, Jack was invited to become a Member to the Acting Chapter of the Irish Film & Television Academy in 2013. The actor spent much of 2013 filming a lead role in Michael Bay's blockbuster Transformers 4: Age of Extinction alongside Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci, which was released in Summer 2014. In early 2014 Jack filmed Gerard Barrett's Glassland, co-starring Toni Collette and Will Poulter. The film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2014 and will be released in 2015.
Jack appeared in the 2017 mini-series Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams and the 2018 drama film On the Basis of Sex, and then starred in the 2019 horror film Midsommar. Other notable roles include Macbeth and Sing Street, as well as the series Strange Angel.
