Working across Film, TV and Theatre, Peter Coonan is best known for his role as Fran on the Irish TV Drama Love/Hate, for which he won an IFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor – Television in 2014.
Coonan has also appeared in the films Between the Canals, What Richard Did, Life's A Breeze and television projects including Crisis Eile, Quirke and Newsbag.
Other projects have included the lead role in the feature film Get Up and Go and of Anglo Irish Bank former Chief Executive David Drumm in the feature film The Guarantee.
In 2019, Coonan took on the role of John Naylor in the crime drama series Dublin Murders, and appeared in the Irish-language feature film Arracht.
2021 saw Coonan star in another Irish-lanugage feature film, Doineann for which he received an IFTA Award nomination in the Best Actor in a Lead Role - Film categoray for 2022. His performance in crima drama series Hidden Assets also saw him nominated for the IFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Drama in the same year.
