IFTA SPOTLIGHT - JACK REYNOR

Jack Reynor

Jack Reynor won the Irish Film & Television Award for Best Film Lead Actor in 2013 for his role as Richard Karlsen in the feature film What Richard Did. The film, looking at the close-knit group of young South Dubliners won seven awards at the ceremony including Best Film and Best Director. Jack's performance won widespread acclaim with The New York Observer calling it "one of the most wrenching performances seen on the screen in some time" and he was also nominated for the IFTA Rising Star Award. In 2013, Jack was invited to join the Acting Chapter and become a Member of the Irish Film & Television Academy.

Jack was born 23rd January 1992 and raised in Co.Wicklow, Ireland. After performing on stage throughout his school years in Dublin and appearing in several short films Jack's breakthrough came in 2012 with his first-lead role in the feature film What Richard Did.

Jack made his breakthrough to Hollywood with a small role alongside Vince Vaughan in the comedy The Delivery Man before landing a starring part in Michael Bay's Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, alongside Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci, one of the biggest summer releases of 2014. Jack's upcoming films include the lead role in Gerard Barrett's Glasslands with Australian actress Toni Collette and Macbeth alongside Michael Fassbender.
