  23/22/09 Exclusive Preview of Into the Storm with Thaddeus O'Sullivan Q&A
  Members of the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) will be among the first in Ireland to see the Emmy-winning film Into the Storm as an exclusive preview screening is scheduled for Dublin on 29 October 2009. The film’s Irish director, Thaddeus O’Sullivan (December Bride), will attend as a special guest and participate in a post screening Q&A with the Academy Members.

  16/11/09 IFTA Exclusive Preview of Brothers with Jim Sheridan Q&A
  Six time Oscar® nominated Irish director Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father) will attend an exclusive IFTA preview screening of his latest feature film Brothers in Dublin on Thursday 19 November 2009.  The acclaimed filmmaker will participate in a post screening Q&A with Irish Film & Television Academy Members.

  09/11/09 Call for Entries - 7th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards
  The call for entries for the 7th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards is now open. Submissions are invited for categories in film, television, shorts and animation. The deadline for submissions is Monday, November 23rd at 5.30pm
  03/09/09 Pete Docter & Jonas Rivera Q&A with IFTA Academy
  Four time Oscar nominated writer/director Pete Docter (Monster’s Inc, WALL•E, Toy Story) and producer Jonas Rivera will attend an exclusive preview screening of their latest feature length animation, ‘UP’, from the Disney•Pixar company. The duo will participate in a post screening Q&A with Members of the Irish Film & Television Academy.

  27/08/09 IFTA Academy Puts Music Centre Stage
  The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) is delighted to announce the inaugural IFTA Music Forum, focusing on Music for the Moving Image, will take place in Dublin on 4 September 2009.

As part of the Academy’s dedication to promoting and encouraging excellence within the Irish film and television industry, the Music Forum will act as a veritable think tank for directors, producers, musicians and composers - exploring the possibilities and practicalities around the business of music composition for the screen.

  07/07/09 Producer Redmond Morris In Conversation with IFTA
  The Galway Film Fleadh, in association with the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA), will pay tribute to Irish producer Redmond Morris at the 21st Galway Film Fleadh which takes place from 7 - 12 July. Morris will be the focus of the Irish Tribute 'In Conversation With...' on Saturday July 11th at 4pm in the Cinemobile where members of the audience will get an insight into the life and career of one of Ireland's most prolific and successful producers working today.

The winners of the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards have been announced at a gala ceremony held in Dublin’s Burlington Hotel tonight, 14th of February 2009.
  11/02/2009 George Morrison to Receive Industry Lifetime Contribution Award at the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards, and IFTA names the Feature Documentary Award in his Honour
The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) is delighted to announce veteran Irish documentary filmmaker and archivist George Morrison as the recipient of the Industry Lifetime Contribution Award at the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards, taking place in Dublin on 14 February 2009. The IFTAs Feature Documentary category is to be named the George Morrison Feature Documentary award in his honour.

Jury Cast Final Votes for Irish Film & Television Awards. Voting for the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards is coming to a close. The Jury is made up of Academy Voting Members across 14 different chapters of acting, writing, directing etc along with a selection of high profile industry experts from around the world, with the finest expertise in their fields. They have been casting their votes and the winners of this year’s Irish Film & Television Awards will be announced at the 6th annual IFTA Awards Ceremony on February 14th next.

The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) is pleased to announce Ryan Tubridy will host the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards. This will be Tubridy’s third successive year hosting the IFTA Awards show, which will broadcast Live from the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on the 14th February 2009 at 9.30pm on RTÉ One.

IFTA Announces Nominees for the 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards
The Irish Film and Television Academy is delighted to announce the shortlist of nominees in strongly contested categories for the 6th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards, which takes place on Saturday 14th February at the Burlington Hotel, Ballsbridge. The nominees were officially unveiled at a press conference held in Dublin earlier today by IFTA CEO Áine Moriarty and actress Amy Huberman.
