The Jury for IFTA 2014

IFTA Awards 2014 International Jury Panels featured expert industry professionals across diverse disciplines and fields. Here's what some of the 2014 Jury had to say on the nominated titles this year:

James Strong

"It was a great honour and privilege to be invited to participate on this year's IFTA Awards jury. What shone through was the consistent levels of excellence demonstrated in all areas of the projects submitted. What was interesting was how many of the entrants were on shows finding huge international acclaim. It seems the Irish film and television community is as strong and thriving as ever."
JAMES STRONG, BAFTA-winning director (Broadchurch, Doctor Who)

Anna Pinnock

"I was very pleased to be asked to participate this year. It was a great opportunity to be able to help further the recognition of excellent and varied work by my Irish colleagues and the Irish industry. A very high standard and a good to see such a variety of work and being able to view closely the more unusual and interesting productions."
ANNA PINNOCK, Oscar-nominated Production Designer (Skyfall, Life of Pi)

"It's been an honour to be involved with the judging process for this year's IFTA awards, though rating the shows was tough, with such a broad range of well-produced content. From comedy shows which are making a splash around the globe to innovative new entertainment formats, there is proof here that Ireland is home to bags of creativity, great talent on and off-screen, and an innovation and ambition to create shows that travel. More than anything there's a sense of pride in work within the Irish TV community which shines through"
MIA LANE, Head of Development at Comedy Central

Shawn Christensen

"It was a pleasure and a privilege to serve on the IFTA Awards Jury this year. I would like to congratulate the talented selection of Irish nominees for pushing the boundaries of the film medium and providing a strong selection of diverse and inspiring works."
SHAWN CHRISTENSEN, Oscar-winning Short Film director 2012
