IFTA Screening - Overlord

The Irish Film and Television Academy invites IFTA members to a special Paramount Pictures screening of ‘Overlord’ on Thursday 1st November

From producer JJ Abrams, ‘Overlord’ is a horror film set during the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II. When their plane crashes on a mission to destroy a German Radio Tower on the eve of D-Day, American paratroopers are caught behind enemy lines in a small town outside of Normandy. Upon reaching their destination, they discover that the threat to their lives doesn’t comes from the German soldiers, but the horrifying creations of a secret Nazi experiment. The initial story for the film was conceived by Oscar Nominated screenwriter Billy Ray (Captain Philips & The Hunger Games) and prolific sci-fi director JJ Abrams (Star Trek & Star Wars: The Force Awakens), with Ray eventually penning the script and Abrams producing the project through his Bad Robot Productions Banner. Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) and Wyatt Russell (Black Mirror) star in the World War horror-drama alongside Jovan Adepo, Jacob Anderson, Dominic Applewhite, Iain De Caestecker, John Magaro, Mathilde Ollivier, and Bokeem Woodbine, directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun).
