IFTA FIRST LOOK SCREENING - PATRICK'S DAY + Q&A

Irish Film & Television Academy Members are invited to the IFTA First Look Screening of Galway Film Fleadh Winner Patrick's Day, on Tuesday July 29th in The Light House Cinema at 6.30pm.

Joint winner of the Best Irish Feature Award at the recent Fleadh, Patrick's Day is IFTA nominated director Terry McMahon's second feature film and has already received critical acclaim from screenings at SXSW and the Edinburgh Film Festival.

The film stars Moe Dunford (Vikings), Kerry Fox (Shallow Grave, Intimacy), Philip Jackson and Catherine Walker. Shot in Dublin, the film also features Irish creative talent behind the camera including Michael Lavelle (cinematography), Emer Reynolds (editing), Ray Harman (music), Emma Lowney (production design), Nikki Moss, Ken Galvin & Hugh Fox (sound) and Paul Valentine (stunts).

Synopsis

Patrick is a warm, open, twenty-six year old virgin schizophrenic. Pills and his mother's protection mean he is no threat to himself or anyone else. Until he falls in love. The object of his desire, Karen, a suicidal flight attendant, has no idea the intimacy she shares with Patrick might reintroduce her to living. Patrick's obsessive mother Maura doesn't realise her own misguided love may be more dangerous than hate. To pull Karen apart, she enlists the help of dysfunctional detective Freeman, who will use his position to help her, for a price. A provocative and heart-breaking love story about the right to intimacy for everyone, Patrick's Day proves, when it comes to love, we're all a little crazy.

To confirm tickets for Patrick's Day, please RSVP to academyevents@ifta.ie by Friday July 25th.

Terry McMahon, Moe Dunford and producer Tim Palmer will join us after the screening for a Q&A
