IFTA Members are invited to a First Look Screening of new Irish feature film release RUN AND JUMP, directed by Academy Award-nominated director Steph Green, on Tuesday January 14th at The Light House Cinema, Dublin.
RUN AND JUMP has already screened to success at both Irish and international festivals, winning both Best Irish Feature and First Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh and Best Film at the Valladolid International Film Festival. It has also received acclaim from international press with Variety highlighting how “[the film] captures the beauty of an obviously flawed family with remarkable warmth and immediacy”.
RUN AND JUMP is directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Steph Green (New Boy) in her debut feature film, produced by Tamara Anghie and written by Ailbhe Keogan. It stars Will Forte [Nebraska), Maxine Peake (Silk, The Village), Edward MacLiam, Sharon Horgan, Brendan Morris and IFTA-Winner Ruth McCabe.
Synopsis:
Vanetia Casey (Maxine Peake), the spirited and impossibly optimistic center of the Casey family, is working hard to get life back to normal after her 38 year-old husband, Conor (Edward MacLiam), suffers a rare stroke which changes his personality. Meanwhile American doctor, Ted Fielding, (Will Forte) arrives in Ireland to stay with them for two months: his research grant providing the Caseys with essential financial aid. Vanetia's a dynamo. But with two young kids and both men in the house, she's feeling bombarded and initially treats Ted and his study of Conor with resistance. Only when she observes Ted's calming influence on the family does she begin to value his friendship, and, in return, Ted enjoys their heady, happy-go-lucky world. But Ted's continued presence in the house sets the family on course for an emotional collision.
