    Charlie Murphy

    Academy Member

    A graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Charlie is an award winning Theatre and Screen actress. Following appearances on Irish dramas The Clinic and Single Handed, Charlie broke through with the role of Siobhan over five seasons on the hugely popular RTÉ TV Drama Love/Hate, for which she won the IFTA Award for Best Actress in 2013 and 2015.

    In recent years she has appeared on screen in films such as ’71, the Oscar nominated Philomena and Northmen: A Viking Saga. Murphy has also starred on British television screens in drama series such as Misfits, Quirke, Ripper Street, and critically adored and BAFTA Nominated shows The Village and Happy Valley.  

    Charlie won a further two IFTA awards in 2017, for Best Actress in a Supporting Role as Ann Gallagher in the BBC One drama series Happy Valley, and in 2018 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role as Jessie Eden in the BBC One historical crime drama series Peaky Blinders.
