Over a diverse career spanning drama, comedy, animation, fantasy, and even blockbuster superhero films, Hinds has worked with celebrated directors such as Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson and Sam Mendes, among others. In 2022 Hinds won two IFTAs at the Irish Academy Awards, winning Best Supporting Actor Film for his role as 'Pop' in Sir Kenneth Branagh's Belfast, which he was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Academy Award, as well as Best Supporting Actor Drama for his work on the AMC/RTÉ crime drama Kin.
He has also starred in comedy-drama series The Dry, from IFTA-winning director Paddy Breathnach, and has worked on high-quality TV such as Game of Thrones, The Terror, and Kin. He has starred in a diverse range of feature films such as Excalibur, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, Road to Perdition, The Sum of All Fears, Munich, There Will Be Blood, In Bruges, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, First Man, The Man in the Hat, Zack Snyder's Justice League (and its 2021 director's cut) and Belfast.
