Colm Meaney is an Irish actor, most known for his role in all three of "The Barrytown Trilogy" films, and to international audiences for his role as Miles O'Brien in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Meaney has had a prolific career on both stage and screen. He has starred in numerous Irish film and television shows including The Commitments, The Snapper, War of the Buttons, The Van, and Intermission. Internationally, Meaney has played roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Con Air, Layer Cake and Get Him to The Greek.
Meaney has won two IFTA Awards. The first came in 2003, where he received the Best Actor in a Feature Film for How Harry Became a Tree. His most recent win came for his portrayal of Martin McGuinness in The Journey, for which he won Best Actor in a Lead Role - Film in 2017.
