Niamh Algar is an Irish actress known for her IFTA Award-winning performances in Irish crime drama film, Calm With Horses, and Channel 4 series The Virtues, both in 2020.
Algar has appeared in films including Conor McMahon's From the Dark, Aoife Crehan's road trip movie The Last Right, and Lorcan Finnegan's Without Name. In 2021 she had a leading role in Censor, for which she received and IFTA Award Nomination for Best Actress in a Lead Role - Film.
Also in 2021, Algar was the lead character in the Channel 4 miniseries Deceit, which earned her another IFTA Award Nomination, this time for Best Actress in a Lead Role - Drama, as well as a BAFTA TV Award Nomination for Leading Actress.
Algar has also had roles in Raised by Wolves, MotherFatherSon, Pure, The Last Right and Vikings.
She received two IFTA nominations in 2024, for her lead role in Malpractice and her supporting role in Culprits.
