Background:
The Irish Academy (IFTA), a not for profit all-Ireland organisation, celebrates 22 years this year, and recently completed the 2025 edition of the annual Irish Academy Awards Ceremony. This year’s ceremony brought a great gathering of Irish talent back home to celebrate in Dublin including for example Cillian Murphy, Saoirse Ronan, Andrew Scott, Ruth Negga, Nicola Coughlan, Sharon Horgan, Colm Meaney, Caitriona Balfe, Liam Cunningham, Jim Sheridan, Chris O’Dowd, Patrick Gibson and many more.
The Academy also hosts a year-round Programme of Learning Events for its Irish Academy Membership (1,300 industry professionals) to help nurture and support creative talent. These events welcome inspiring Screen Talent from around the world who share their knowledge, expertise and experience. In recent years IFTA has welcomed inspiring leaders such as legendary director Martin Scorsese, Chloé Zhao, Judi Dench, Edward Norton, Liam Neeson, Lily Gladstone, Todd Field, John C. Reilly, Julie Anne Robinson, Stephen Frears, Deepak Chopra and many more. Academy Events include: Masterclasses, Discussions, Casting and Acting Forums, Women In Focus Series, Lifetime Tribute events, Screenings, Q&As, Networking events, Irish Language events, Dynamic Diverse forum, Creative Mind & Wellbeing Days, and much more.
The Academy is now seeking to fill the role of: Brand Partnership Executive
About Partnerships at IFTA
IFTA Partnerships generate vital funds to support IFTA’s international activity through engaging and authentic brand partnerships and core alignment values. We are looking for an experienced and tenacious Partnership Executive to create and sell integrated brand partnerships and expand income streams to support the Academy’s 12 month Learning Programme of events as well as the annual Awards.
Key responsibilities are:
- Source, build and maintain great relationships with brand partners in Ireland and internationally, liaising with Ad Agencies, Brand Managers, Commercial Agents, PR companies, Distributors, Streaming Platforms, Broadcasters etc.
- Work with Senior Management and the Comms team to drive digital partnership revenue to support IFTA’s work across Awards and Learning Programme content.
- Create engaging Pitch Decks and present effective proposals and lead on negotiations
- Work with the Awards team to identify strategic brands that align with the extensive Irish and international audience reach of the IFTA Awards across all Media platforms and maximise commercial potential.
- Work with the Learning Programme team across various activities with Actors and Academy Members sessions to support IFTA’s Irish and international events, with new brand partnerships.
- Compile clear and precise reports for Senior Management
- Liaise with Event organisers and oversee contracts to ensure all partnerships are delivered efficiently and to deadline whilst staying true to the IFTA brand.
- Keep abreast of market research, trends, statistics, demographics, media tracking, audience reach, social media engagement etc. (IFTA uses a media monitoring agency to track engagement across its events and activities).
Essential Criteria for this role:
Ideally you will:
- Have at least 3 years’ experience working partnership/sales or sponsorship positions (sales experience is essential).
- Have Experience in monetising digital assets as part of high-value partnerships and understand how content can deliver additional partnership value.
- Have a proven track record of success in negotiating and securing financial deals and partner contracts.
- Have the Ability to listen to what brands want and be able to align ideas with sales objectives while being highly commercial and target driven.
- Have a clear understanding of Brand Marketing and all aspects of a successful partnership; analysing statistics and tracking marketing campaigns and metrics across Media platforms and audience reach.
- Be a Tenacious, ambitious and determined individual with excellent communication skills and a proven influencing style.
- Be passionate about Irish screen talent and screen production and a wonderful ambassador for IFTA and the Academy’s work internationally.
Remuneration:
The Salary is commensurate with experience.
Plus Bonus, performance related scheme and Expenses provided.
