Full members are entitled to vote in the Annual Irish Film & Drama Awards and the Annual IFTA Gala Television Awards. Full IFTA Membership includes access to online private viewing of all titles on the IFTA Members’ Area and IFTA Members are entitled to attend special academy screenings during the Awards Viewing Season in the lead up to the Ceremony. In addition to the Academy votes, members are also invited to sit on the various Jury Panels for the Awards along with international names. 

There is a small annual Membership fee of €250 which contributes to the Academy’s 12-Month Programme of Learning; 50+ Events & Discussions, nurturing and inspiring professional Excellence & Learning;  Masterclasses, Lectures, Panel Discussions, In Conversations, Workshops & Networking events (with industry, filmmakers and new talent), First-look Screenings, Q&As, Tributes, Industry Forums, Film Symposiums and more.

The Academy has hosted nearly 500 events since 2003 with major industry names including Martin Scorsese, Michael Moore, Liam Neeson, Maureen O’Hara, Ethan Hawke, Sharon Horgan, Liam Cunningham, Seamus McGarvey, Úna Ní Dhonghaíle, Bertrand Tavernier, Aisling Walsh, Joel Cox, Ian la Frenais & Dick Clement, Peter Bogdanovich, Sean Bobbitt, John Moore, Michelle Burke, Roger Michelle and many more.
