The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA), will pay tribute to screen legend Peter O’Toole during the 2008 Galway Film Fleadh Festival. O’Toole, whose career spans five decades, will be the focus of a special In Conversation With... where IFTA Members can get an insight into the remarkable life and career of one of Ireland's most prolific and successful actors.
With an acclaimed catalogue that includes Lawrence of Arabia, The Lion in Winter, Venus and The Last Emperor, the Galway Film Fleadh will screen a selection of films chosen specifically by O’Toole for the actor’s tribute. Among the titles screening are My Favourite Year (1982) and Goodbye Mr. Chips (1969), for which he received two of his eight Oscar nominations; as well as Jeffery Bernard is Unwell (1999) and Rogue Male (1976).
