The Irish Film and Television Academy and Underground Films are delighted to present a preview screening of The Pipe, this year's Best Documentary winner at the Galway Film Fleadh. The Pipe is a Scannain Inbhear Teoranta presentation in association with Underground Films, Riverside Television and TG4 with the participation of the Irish Film Board and received its Official World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The screening will take place at the Light House Cinema, Smithfield,   Dublin 7 and will be followed by a Q&A with Producer Rachel   Lysaght and Director Risteard Ó Domhnaill. 
      
      ABOUT THE FILM 
      
      The Pipe tells the story of the small   Rossport community that has taken on the might of Shell Oil and the Irish State. 
      
      The discovery of gas off this remote coastal village has led to the most   dramatic clash of cultures in modern Ireland. 
      
      Normal policing has broken   down and already 5 locals have gone to jail rather than let Shell's pipeline   cross their lands. With the imminent arrival of the world's largest pipelaying   vessel, the State stages a massive security operation to ensure the pipe is laid   without interference.
