In October 2017 Storm Ophelia hit Ireland and the country went into lockdown. 3News responded by broadcasting a live extended bulletin from 3-6pm while the worst storm in 50 years was at the peak of its power. Six reporters were live from across the country reporting in 140 Km/h winds and driving rain so that our viewers would be informed about what was happening from the safety of their homes.
