This year’s Irish Film and Television Academy awards promise to be the most exciting yet, with superstars Colin Farrell and Michael Fassbender being tipped for a gong.

Farrell is nominated as Best Supporting Actor for his role in Saving Mr Banks while Fassbender is shortlisted in the same category for his part in 12 Years A Slave.

Also nominated are Edward MacLiam for Run & Jump and Peter McDonald in the comedy, The Stag.

Brendan Gleeson and his son Domhnall go head-to-head in the Best Film Actor category — Brendan for Calvary and Domhnall for his part in the romantic drama About Time. Ciarán Hinds, The Sea, and Andrew Scott, The Stag, are also nominated for Best Lead Actor....
