His role as maverick cop Brian McGonigle in Red Rock won him a Best Lead Actor nomination by the Irish Film and Television Academy in 2016. He starred in Philomena, which was nominated for Best Film at the BAFTAs, Oscars and the Golden Globes. Upcoming film releases include the U.S period drama, Murder of a President and the big screen war thriller, Anthropoid.
Brendan O'Carroll is best known for his role as Agnes Brown in Mrs. Brown's Boys. He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for Comedy at the 2015 IFTA Gala Television Awards. His career so far has seen him write seven novels, make four top-selling videos, produce an international box office hit comedy movie as well as bestselling music record, but it was creating and starring in sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys that brought him to global attention.
