31st January 2014IFTA Members were invited to an intimate evening with actor Allen Leech in Dublin to discuss his career and international success as he begins filming Season 5 on the award-winning series Downton Abbey.
Allen's career has spanned over a decade across both film and television and he has been nominated for four IFTA Awards since 2004. His credits include Irish feature films Man About Dog, Cowboys & Angels, Rewind and the television series Legend, Love is the Drug, Rome and The Tudors. His role as Tom Branson on Downton Abbey, which airs in over 100 countries has made Allen an internationally recognisable face and in 2013 he accepted the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Drama Ensemble with his fellow cast at the ceremony in LA. 17th January 2014IFTA will launch its new Lunchtime Labs series this January 17th with IFTA & BAFTA winning screenwriter Malcolm Campbell (What Richard Did, The White Queen) who will participate in this hour-long daytime discussion exploring topics such as writing episodic television drama, adapting source material and his success with writing realistic teenage characters.
